Hi! I’m Halley.
I live in southeast Michigan with my husband and four children. We have triplet three-year-old boys, and a one-year-old girl, and we live on 7 wooded acres, in a colonial style home which is actually my childhood home, too.
I love the architecture of traditional American homes, and I’m always working to incorporate those timeless design principles along with some modern elements and of course family functionality. In every design project, I try to maximize natural light, finding beauty in simple vignettes with neutral colors and cozy textures.
Our family has lived in a variety of different sizes and styles of home, from a small apartment to a large suburban Texas home with its characteristic two story walls. What’s important to me is helping you love the home that you have, where you’re serving your family right now, whether it’s your forever home or not — and that you feel inspired and recharged by the beauty within those walls where your family is spending so much of your daily lives.
A few of Halley’s favorite things:
Rooms to design: I really love the rooms that are often utilized so heavily in family life, like kitchens (the heart of the home!), mudrooms, family rooms, and school rooms and offices. But also, kid rooms and play spaces are so much fun! It’s so nice to be whimsical and colorful and playful without the pressure of having the room as the center of your home (like the kitchen)!
Colors: In general I love a creamy white backdrop for lots of wood tones and muted neutrals like blues, greens, greys, and the occasional pink or red — and plenty of texture like stone, greenery, knits, woven earthy rugs and baskets.

I also love home books, and collect them like crazy. I think my favorite of all time is The Great American House by Gil Schafer. I’ve learned so much from him! I also love Homebody by Joanna Gaines, Timeless by Patrick Ahearn, Made for Living by Amber Lewis, and Down to Earth by Lauren Liess.
